Description:
This is a very nice World War 2 production Winchester M1 Carbine made during the 3rd block of production in late 1944. It likely served in the last part of WW2 and then went back into Uncle Sam's arsenal and reworked for the Korean War. When it was reworked it received a replacement trigger group, barrel band/bayonet lug, bolt, and operating handle. All of these replacement parts are WW2 production except for the Type 3 barrel band which is a Springfield Arsenal Korean War production piece. The trigger group is a WW2 I.B.M. part (BE-B) and the operating rod is "P.I." marked. This M1 Carbine has a great look to it and a good deal of the original finish. The parkerizing shows some wear in the contact areas but has a nice even appearance overall. The bore is excellent in this carbine. The rifling still looks strong and it is free from any pitting or imperfections. The stock is the original Winchester stock complete with the original inspector's cartouche on the right side of the buttstock. The sling well cut "W" is very hard to see, but it is there. The stock is in excellent condition structurally with no cracks, chips, repairs, or major damage visible. All of the controls on this Winchester work 100% like they were designed to, and the gas-operated action is in perfect working order. This M1 Carbine comes with one original and correct Winchester-made "SW" stamped 15-round magazine. If you have been looking for a nice M1 Carbine for your collection that you can shoot and display as a representative piece, this Winchester would be a perfect choice and is priced to sell.
