Description:
This is a VERY nice and clean 1987 vintage Ruger Red Label 12 gauge over and under shotgun. This Red Label has 26" inch barrels with a ventilated rib and screw-in chokes. The 2 chokes that come with it are Modified and Full. The original factory gloss blue finish on the barrels rates 98% plus and looks beautiful. The polished stainless steel receiver rates 98% as well and shows no wear or scratches. The bores in both barrels are perfect. They are mirror bright with no pitting, dents, bulges, or visible imperfections of any kind. The original Walnut stock set features checkering on the forearm and pistol grip and is in excellent condition overall. The wood is free from any cracks, chips, or repairs and looks like-new. While Ruger Red Label stocks are typically very plain and straight grained, this stock shows some very nice contrast and swirl in the buttstock. The factory recoil pad is in pristine shape as well, and the length of pull is 14.25" inches to the end of the pad. All of the controls on this Ruger work perfectly and the action is nice and tight. The ejectors are strong and the single-selectable trigger functions as it was designed to. This shotgun has obviously lived a very easy life over the last 31 years and our guess is that this gun has had less than a case of shotshells fired thru it since it left the factory. If you have been looking for a solid and dependable yet attractive American-made 12 gauge over and under this Red Label would be a superb choice. It would be very difficult to find one of these in any better condition than this example!
