Description:
Winchester Model 1866 4th Model lever action rifle. Serial Number #158500, manufactured in 1882. .44 FLAT R.F. Caliber. 24" round barrel with full magazine a very good bore showing strong rifling . Barrel is brown-blue patina, but shows some strong remnants of original blue on the fore-end cap and in the more protected areas of the barrel, magazine. The steel lever and the butt plate show traces of color case hardening. Butt plate has trap door for tools, but none are included. Markings remain quite clear. Has a beautiful mellow toned brass frame. The smooth walnut forend and straight grip buttstock remain in excellent condition having darkened from the years with mostly smooth finish, scattered small dings, scratches and and handling marks. The rifle is sighted with a semi-buckhorn rear, with serrations, and brass blade front, original sights. This fine rifle is in it's original configuration and seems to function properly and is very good mechanically .Buyer Pays $45.00 shipping to the lower 48 states.
