Hammerguns - Theophilus Murcott is quite famous for being the inventor of the first production hammerless shotgun. He was granted this patent in 1871. They were purchased and closed by W. W. Greener in 1878.
This would make a great project as I know it would turn out to be something really special. This in its day was a very high crafted gun. I love the elegant 36" barrels!
A full restoration would include back boring the barrels for pitting and to add choke, browning of the barrels, rejoin, replace two screws, and complete wood restoration. Finished this would be a very special gun.
