Description:

Civil War Austrian Musket Converted to a Shotgun after the War. Very interesting example of what was probably an Ohio issued musket (made in Austria). Muskets were sold to the Union and many went to Ohio. This example was made in 1860. Most rifles and shotguns of the percussion type have a steel lower rib for the ramrod. This has a wooden “rib” most often seen on American made fowlers from Pennsylvania and farther east. A feature not usually seen on soldier bring back muskets. Action works perfectly. If you collect Civil War, here is an inexpensive example of post-war gunsmithing and on a foreign made musket! Excellent conversation piece.
