Description:
A very nice WWII Inland M1A1 Paratrooper Carbine, is serial numbered 104421 and the barrel is an Inland, dated 11/42. It is a 1st series production run and shows no evidence of being re-worked other than the replacement of the the leather cheek piece which has the correct vintage 7/4 replacement brass rivets. The bore is excellent and all metal parts have a smooth grey parkerized finish showing a nice even patina. Metal finish shows some areas of high edge wear and handling marks as you would expect to see on a rifle used in combat. All internal parts are correct including an AI marked type 2 flat bolt, PI marked type 1 slide, and plain push safety and magazine release. The trigger assembly has the correct Dog Leg hammer, and the housing shows no strike marks from a later type hammer being previously installed. A type 1A N marked front sight and type 1 flip sight with no evidence of a later sight being previously installed. The stock is in excellent condition, is high wood with Fat Boy grip marked IO with ordnance proof and circle P proof on rear of fore stock. The hand guard assembly is the correct early two rivet style and is marked IO with flaming bomb. The stock shows no compression marks from having a type 2 band previously installed. All metal parts of the stock are correct, including the the correct casting number B257614 inside the butt plate. Rifle comes with (1) correct AI marked 15-round magazine. An excellent example of the famed WWII Paratrooper M1 Carbine that is absolutely a G.I. bring-back gun and appears to be in the exact same configuration it left the service in with no collector "improvements".
