Payment Types Accepted: Visa,Master Card, Discover,Check Description: This attractive and 100% original and matching Type 14 Nambu was captured and brought home from Okinawa after World War 2. The soldier who captured it carved his initials into the grips "FM" to make sure it wasn't taken by another soldier on the voyage home. It is a "Nagoya Nambu" manufactured example from Nambu's privately owned Kokubunji factory, dated "18.9" which translates to September 1943. All of the serial numbered parts including the magazine are matching, and the blue and strawed finishes are factory original. By this time in production a hot salt blue was being used rather than the earlier rust blue. The blue finish on this Type 14 is still beautiful and rates 96%. There are only some very light handling marks visible under inspection and the grip strap's blue finish is still bright and strong. The yellow strawed finish has faded on some of the small parts but still shows lots of attractive color on the trigger. The bore in this Nambu is phenomenal, bright and clean. The rifling still shows sharp lands and grooves and there is no pitting, erosion, or imperfections of any kind. The original Dipterocarpaceae wood (member of the Phillipine Mahogany family) grips are in good condition overall, free from cracks, repairs, or missing chunks. They still show so a lot of the gloss factory sealant intact, and show handling wear consistent with a pistol that saw combat but was well cared for. This pistol comes with one original factory magazine, serial numbered to the gun. It is in excellent condition with 96% plus of the original blue finish intact on the body and a strong follower spring. Everything works on this Japanese pistol 100% like the day it left the factory during WW2. Since it made it to the States as a war trophy it has spent the vast majority of it's time in storage. If you have been looking for a clean and all-original Type 14 Nambu to add to your WW2 Axis Military gun collection this would be a great choice. It is fresh out of the woodwork so to speak, and has never been offered on the collector's market before.
