Description:
This is one of the finest all-weather hunting rifles that Steyr has ever offered. The ProHunter model with Steyr's patented "Safebolt System" (SBS) quickly earned a reputation for extreme accuracy and reliability in the toughest environments. Steyr introduced this model to the U.S. market in 1996 with a matte blue finish in a variety of calibers with a 24" or 26" inch hammer-forged barrel, a black or camo synthetic stock, a 4-rd detachable box magazine, and an adjustable trigger. The synthetic stock is adjustable for length of pull with removable spacers, and the unique SBS 3-position rotary safety is designed to be easy to use and extremely safe. The SBS ProHunter is a very attractive rifle for a synthetic stocked sporting rifle, it looks both sleek and tough at the same time. This particular example is a 24" inch barrel .243 Winchester model with a black synthetic stock. It is in excellent condition overall and obviously has been used VERY little and well cared for. The factory matte blue finish rates a solid 98% with no finish wear or corrosion, with only some tiny handling marks if you examine it very closely. The unique spiral hammer forging pattern on the exterior of the barrel is beautiful. The receiver is factory drilled and tapped for optics, and this SBS ProHunter comes with a set of Leupold bases already mounted up. The silver finish on the adjustable trigger rates 99% and looks like-new. The bore in this Steyr is perfect. It shows no pitting, erosion, or imperfections whatsoever. The rifling still looks sharp and prominent with no visible wear. The black synthetic stock is like-new. There are no gouges, scratches, or wear showing on the stock. This rifle stock has factory installed flush mount sling swivel pockets and an adjustable length of pull system using removable spacers and a Steyr recoil pad. It comes with 2 spacers and the recoil pad as well as a Vero Vellini neoprene sling. Everything on this Steyr works 100% like the day it left the factory. If you have been looking for a new Whitetail rifle that will not only out-perform most other rifles but also set you apart from the crowd, this Steyr SBS ProHunter would be a superb choice.
