Description:
SHILOH SHARPS LONG RANGE EXPRESS RIFLE IN BIG, AND NOW DISCONTINUED, CALIBER .50-140 (3 ¼” CASE) WITH 34” OCTAGON BARREL. I believe this rifle is a fairly late Farmingdale, New York made rifle not long before the company moved to Montana. It has double set triggers, pistol grip, cheek piece with accent line and shotgun butt plate with the early style hard rubber butt plate embossed “SHARPS” over “OLD RELIABLE.” The barrel is also stamped with the famed "OLD RELIABLE" trademark.The wood is a beautiful piece of nicely grained and dense fancy walnut showing a particularly attractive reddish brown color with dark figure. It is fitted with a mid-range vernier tang sight adjustable for windage and elevation plus a globe front sight with ball and post. Overall, the rifle appears about like new. Along with this rifle comes an RCBS .50 caliber 450 grain bullet mould in excellent condition (comes with paperwork showing the price of this special order mould was $135), 33 pieces of .50 3 ¼” brass and a .50 caliber wad cutter. Weighs right about 11 lbs. If you ever wanted the biggest .50 caliber Shiloh ever made, this is it!
