Description:
In the era of top break revolvers, this Smith & Wesson made the best. Their double action model was introduced in 1880. The internal mechanism of these guns was somewhat more complicated than other contemporary designs, and their price was about triple the average of the time. Quality sells though and they were very popular. Many of them are still in everyday use even though the cartridge they fire are of marginal power by today's standards. The four inch barrel is a nice usable pocket size. This gun has about 90% original nickel. The grips are in excellent condition. The .38 S&W cartridge is still available. Action works nicely with the bore showing sharp bright rifling.
