Description:
A scarcely-encountered Model 24, also known as the "Sequoia" Model, for the former San Francisco sporting goods store of that name. Reportedly, as few as five hundred Sequoia rifles were produced by Steyr. As we understand it, many went unsold and shipped back to the factory, where the front receiver ring got caliber-stamped to meet requirements for European sales. This example appears original and unstamped, with crisp, clear brand and model markings on the front receiver ring. Metal and wood finish are refreshingly nice, with hardly even a handling mark present. 23-1/2" barrel has a beautiful bore, chamber and rifling. Original rubber 3-hole insert still present in the stock cavity under the contoured steel trapdoor butt plate. German 6x "Oigee" steel-body scope has clear optics, and sits in a steel Griffin and Howe windage adjustable base. Overall, a particularly rare rifle in beautiful shape, and would make a proud addition to any Mannlicher Schoenauer collection. Call or email for more info. CA sale OK,C&R OK.
