Description:
This Winchester Model "Winder Musket" is a single shot breech loading falling block action rifle in .22 Short Cal. It has a 28 inch barrel and a smooth grip walnut straight stock. This musket is a training rifle used by the U.S. Military in the early 20th century. The receiver top is stamped with US and has the flaming bomb. It was the brainchild of Colonel C.B. Winder who advocated markmanship training with a rifle of simular size and weight to a service rifle but chambered in .22 rimfire. It was based on the Winchester Model 1885. In overall pretty good condition for it age it comes as is.
