SPRINGFIELD U.S. MODEL 1816 FLINTLOCK MUSKET DATED 1839. 57” o/a with 42” smoothbore .69 cal. barrel with Springfield “P/EAGLE HEAD/V” proofs at the breech. An excellent reconversion otherwise 100% original in superior condition. Exceptionally nice metal retaining lots of original plum brown finish. Lock with perfect markings dated “1839” matching the barrel tang date “1839” and with traces of the original case hardening color. Has all the original Spfd sub-inspector’s stamps on the bands and trigger guard. Stock with the original finish and with two sharp U.S. Inspector’s cartouches. Good bore and lock in working order.
