Manufactured in Birmingham, this launcher device fits on the muzzle of a Smile MK III A launcher cartridge was loaded into the rifle chamber and blasted the personal gernade in a high arch. The body of the launcher is marked: Components LTD. Bournbrook, Birmingham. The adjustable gas vent device on the base allowed the soldier to range the projection of the gernade. A tennis ball just fits snug into the tube. A blank round really launches a tennis ball! A nice collector item for the WW I British collector.
