Description:
This was the Montreal Home Guard rifle in .303 Savage caliber. A very rebuildable specimen needing only the original front wood, rear sight, barrel band with sling swivel and forend cap. This example has the home guard number "500" stamped into the buttplate tang. Over 95% bright blue finish remains with 95% gloss varnish on the butt stock. The stock shows a crack at right rear of the top tang. Bright, excellent bore. This is the 1915 production model from the 165000 serial number block. The original conversions were most likely done by Frazer & Company of Montreal. A great piece for the rebuilder with parts or a beat up example needing these new parts. Import marked. About 70% case color remains on the lever. FFL or C&R
