Description:
William R. "Bill" Hurt Camp Knife shown is the second ever produced  (April 1997) model from this incredible bladesmith ( as of today in 2019, his whereabouts are unknown-Bill as simply "disappeared from the knifemaking scene for over 15 years). He made supernatural cutting knives, particularly his Camp models which I have tested. The knife describe in this newspaper article is the one you are getting. The original issue of Knife old shown in the listing comes with the knife. This is the ONE you'll be getting as it is the one used in the tests/evaluations.    No one has ever made a  camp knife that could equal Bill's models, surpass it? Forget that! I have tested over 125 custom knives over the past 30 years from renowned ABS Master Smiths, JS , other smiths, knifemakers in the US and Canada. The shown picture in the article,(comes with the knife) represent only a very small fraction of all the wood we cut with this particular model, not counting what can't be seen and when we used it and put to test in the restaurant kitchen.  If you thought cutting a 8 to 10" thick oak log is hard, try sycamore as I did with this model, cutting time seven minutes! Wood-lined scabbard covered with Kudu skin. 12-1/8" ( bit above the 1/8" ) blade from hand-forged 5160 tool steel with a German silver single guard. Amazing balance and handling capabilities for a knife of that size. Rarely seen up close is the silver wire inlay work Hurt is capable of. Here is his latest ( back then) variations along with the wood-lined scabbard. This stunning example of Bill Hurt camp model shows intricate curlicues of inlaid silver in his trademark curly maple handles. This is Bill's "Branch Motif," with silver wire "Berries" pins at each limb's end! Free USPS  shpping with tracking # USA only.     No trade folks!
