Spencer 1860 Civil War Carbine
- .56 caliber
- 22" barrel
- Made in 1864
- Appears period refinished in cold blue
- Mechanically sound
- Nice action
- Bore is bright with good lands and grooves
- Sling swivel
- Front barrel band
- Steel butt plate with storage
- October 1863 is when Spencer started delivering these M1860 carbines to the Ordnance Department for use by Federal Cavalrymen
- As many as 3000 went to private purchasers and also saw action in the war
- Because these rifles were so heavily relied on at the end of the Civil War, very few are available in excellent condition
