Description:
New in the Box (including shipping carton) a special order Winchester Model 12 Trap Gun. In 1976 my Father special ordered this Model 12 trap with high grade "B" carved wood from Winchester. After receiving it he sent it to Neil Hartlip to be engraved and gold inlayed in the Winchester grade five pattern. After he got it back he couldn't bring himself to shoot it. He said, "It's just to dang pretty to shoot." He never shot it but kept it until his death (25 years ago) when it passed to me. I think my Dad was right it's just to pretty to shoot so I have admired it all these years but have never shot it or even put it together. With the gun is the reprint of a six page article abut the Master Engraver, Neil Hartlip, retiring to teach engraving for the NRA. The only fault I can find with the gun is a few light pressure dents on the left side of the butt stock (see photos). I put the gun away and it's been in storage ever since however I am now 72 years old and have decided it is time to pass this beautiful trap gun along ......perhaps the next owner will shoot it.
