Description: General Specs: Parker, Year 1929, 12 Gauge, 6lb 13oz, LM/IM, LOP 14 5/16", DAH 2 3/4", DAC 1 5/8" Serial Number: 229620 Here we are with another fall hunting season sneaking right up. Anticipation of that first cold night that makes it feel like it is “time” makes all shooters start to think about what new gun they are going to get for the upcoming upland hunts. Here we have a fine Parker VHE 12ga., sn229620 built in 1929, that is unique in several ways. Parker 12ga. guns usually weigh close to 8lbs., a bit on the heavy side compared to a Fox or fine English 12 bore. However, this is one of their lightweight guns, built on a 1 ½ frame and weighing just 6lbs. 13oz. with the most desirable 28” Vulcan steel barrels choked LM/IM (.014/.028 constrictions) and having excellent bores. This gun is just how we found it, in unmolested factory original condition in every way. She has been carried afield for almost 90 years but has been well cared for as the screws are excellent, as are the wood-to-metal fit and mechanics of this Parker. We employ 3 full time gunsmiths and we would often restore a gun like this Parker, but some guys like the guns with natural wear and less cost, so we are leaving this one alone (we can restore any part of the gun for the new owner with no waiting in line…if that is of interest to you just ask us about the process). It has everything a buyer should look for in a fine side x side, ie. factory bore diameters, chokes, chambers, lots of wall thickness in the barrels, and wood with good dimensions and the original factory butt plate. We have stripped the action and forend iron to the smallest parts, put all in the Ultrasonic cleaner, shined up all the parts, inspected all for integrity and function, lubricated and reassembled both, making this a VFI CERTIFIED GUN complete with a 90 day mechanical warranty. Who does that on a 90-year old gun??? With barrels that are tight on the hinge pin and breech face like a new gun and the top lever way right of center, and strong well-timed ejectors, this gun is ready to go hunting for the next 20 years or so with nothing more than proper cleaning and care. Balanced dead on the hinge pin and light weight for ease of carry all day in the field, you can own this Parker for a very affordable price. And, of course, we all know the clout in the Parker name and realize that as we enjoy this Parker afield or at the local gun club it will continue to gain in value. You literally don’t spend money buying a fine Parker shotgun, you earn money with the investment made. Gotta like that! Thanks for looking.
