Description:
Winchester was proud to commemorate the 150th Anniversary of the great state of Florida. This is a bonafide commemorative sanctioned by Winchester. Limited to a production of only 500 pieces with less produced. This 20 inch barreled Winchester carbine is chambered for 30/30 caliber ammunition. Finely engraved on both sides of the receiver, the left side shows the Great Seal of the State of Florida. In addition, there is an engraving of a Mockingbird, the state bird of Florida, and a launch scene of the shuttle leaving the Kennedy Space Flight Center. These engravings are highlighted by light scroll work that features orange blossoms, the state flower of Florida, intertwined into the scroll patterns. Underneath these engraved scenes is a banner reading "1845-1995 Florida 150th Anniversary". The right side of the receiver is entirely devoted to a scene of the Everglades complete with alligators, cranes, cypress trees and an airboat. This scene is also highlighted on the edges with light scroll. The checkered stock and forend on this fine commemoration are semi-fancy French walnut with a satin style finish. The receiver, lever and barrel bands are painstakingly finished in 24-karat gold. The barrel, magazine tube and bolt have a deep, smooth, blue finish polished to a higher quality than is available on standard Winchesters. This is number 32 of around 350 made. The rifle is as new in box and remains unfired since leaving the factory. This is a hard one to find.
