The Mk IV Series 70 Gold Cup National Match 1911 was Colt's finest .45 ACP pistol. This example is serial number 22424N70 and was manufactured in 1982. It has been lightly used but is in great shape overall and is 100% original. The original factory high gloss blue finish is very clean and only shows a few very minor areas of high edge wear. the most noticable being on the left side of the slide near the cocking serations. This can be seen in the pictures provided. The bore in the 5" match grade barrel is superb. It looks like-new and is bright with sharp rifling. The original checkered Walnut grips with gold Colt medallions are in very good condition overall. The checkering is still clean looking and there are no cracks or repairs visible. Everything on this Gold Cup works 100% like the day it left the factory. All of the controls work properly, and the action is smooth and goes into battery perfectly with no play or slop. If you have been looking for a 70 Series Gold Cup that is nice enough to still be considered an investment, but that you could still take out to shoot, this pistol would be a perfect choice. Included is the original box, paper work and (1) factory magazine.
