Interarms Whitworth 98 Mauser sporting rifle chambered in .270 Winchester manufactured in 1984. Whitworth rifles were imported by Interarms from 1974-1996. Based on the Zastava Mark X action, Whitworth of Manchester, England assembled these handsome rifles with the American big game hunter in mind. This rifle features a 24" hammer forged barrel, bow release Oberndorf style trigger guard, Williams front and rear sight, and fully adjustable Timney trigger set at a crisp 2 lbs. The rifle has a nicely shaped, oil finished, dark walnut stock featuring Germanic style shadow line cheek piece, hand cut checkering, ebony forend tip, steel grip cap and factory brown recoil pad. A barrel band sling swivel completes the classic look of this rifle. Chambered in .270 Winchester, this rifle is capable of taking any big game species in North America. The condition of this rifle is excellent, showing little evidence of use. The bore is in perfect condition, and the bolt face is clean. The rifle retains approximately 98+% of its orignal blue finish. The stock shows only very minor handling marks. If you are looking for a serious hunting rifle based on the classic 98 Mauser action, for the money, this one would be hard to beat.
