Historic S & W 1917 mod. used during WWI 45 ACP, w/ lanyard ring and 4 full moon clips. 95 % blue and 100 % case color hammer and trigger. Serial # 121328 (1918). Period professional restoration "1974" marked on back strap, under grips. Finish is fine with some handling marks. No deep scratchs, dings, or oxidation. Bore is clean w/ very good strong lands, no pitting. All marking are sharp. Springfield Armory on frame and cyl. Matching serial numbers on frame, cyl, and barrel. Action is crisp and tight. "United States Property " on bottom of barrel. Correct fine smooth walnut replacement grips. "US Army 1917" on butt w/ original lanyard ring.Interesting English proof marks on right side of barrel, " NP 45 auto 7 tons". A fine addition to any Military or S&W collection.
