Description:
Here is a Marlin 20-S in excellent condition retaining a lot of the original finish. The 24" octogon barrel is in 99% conditon with sharp edges, crisp lettering and a mint bore. Stock and forend retains a solid 90%+ of original finish. The receiver has lost some blue as photos indicate, appears to be related to storage or handeling. The Marlin Model 20-S differs from the Marlin just slightly as the 20-S had the improved shorter length locking bolt and differnt shape firing pin. Marlin catalogue stated that these improvements resulted in greater strength to the receiver. The tubular magazine can hold 15 short, 12 long or 11 long rifle cartrdiges. You can load all or a mix of these cartridges. Receiver is drilled and taped by Factory for a scope. This is a well made gun per the Company promotional data as "the working parts of the action were made by best quality crucible steel with contact points hardened to prevent wear". "Flat springs were made of best quality Jessop's Spring Steel imported from England". The Marlin Model 20 was introduced around 1906. The Marlin 20-S was offered later. Shipping is $40.
