Description:
This 1966 Browning Grade 1 Superposed is in spectacular all-original condition.  It has obviously spent the vast majority of it's life in a safe or storage.  The Belgian-made Browning Superposed is considered by many to be one of the finest over and under shotguns ever built.  Offered in a variety of models and grades during it's production run they have been collected and sought-after for many decades.  This particular Superposed was manufactured in 1966 and has to be one of the first of the short-tang models.  It features 26.5" barrels choked "Improved Cylinder" and "Modified" with 2.75" chambers, a gold-finished single selectable trigger, and automatic ejectors.  The original gloss blue factory finish is in excellent condition rating 98% plus.  Only under very close inspection can one find any deductions from some tiny handling/storage marks, none of which detract from the super clean look of this shotgun.  The gold finish on the trigger looks good overall, but does show some finish wear from the face slightly to the right side.  The bores in this shotgun are perfect.  They are mirror bright and free from pitting, dents, bulges, or imperfections of any kind.  The ventilated rib is in perfect condition, tight to the barrels with the original ivory mid-bead intact and the original silver front bead still in place.  The factory original checkered Walnut stock set is in great shape as well.  The factory checkering on the forearm and pistol grip is clean and crisp with no soiling, and the factory clearcoat is still fully intact.  The buttstock remains at the factory length and has not been cut, with the length of pull measuring 14.25" inches to the end of the original Browning-branded buttplate.  The wood is free from any cracks, chips, or repairs, and only shows some scattered small storage and handling dings and dents.  The action on this shotgun is barely broken-in and is still tight and is perfectly "on face".  The action lever still sits to the right side of the upper tang which indicates that it has barely been used and is not worn-in.  The safety/barrel selector functions perfectly, and the trigger is nice and crisp.  All of the controls on this Browning and the automatic ejectors work 100% like the day this shotgun left the factory.  If you have been looking for a classy over and under for your collection that you can carry with pride into any dove field or skeet field in the country, this 1966 Grade 1 Superposed would be an excellent choice.  Not only could this gun be enjoyed in the field but it also would be an excellent long-term investment.
