#4181 S&W.32 Hand Ejector First Model, Newark, N.J. P.D. 3-27-1897
This First Model Hand Ejector of 1896 was shipped from the S&W Factory to the Newark, New Jersey Police Department on 3-27-1897. It is engraved on the back strap, Newark Police and comes with the original S&W Factory letter. Serial Number is 8120. The mechanical function if very good crisp and tight and the bore is very good bright and shiny but does have a slight bulge behind the front sight. Now I am wondering how a 32 Long with a lead bullet will bulge a 3” barrel in the first place?? That’s a testimony to the strength and how well the S&W Hand Ejector First Model of 1896 held up!!
