Description:
Last yr of production for these late (post 1957) stunning beauties. Intended to compete with Winchester 64 Deluxe of the same era (discontinued in 1962) and actually sold for more than the 64 Deluxe at the time. Produced from 1948 until '62. In 1957 the stocks were redesigned by the famous stock company Bishop to reflect a more modern at the time designe: The rifle version (this one) had handsome hand checkering, butt stock has a monte carlo comb and a raised cheek piece, the Carbine version had only the monte carlo without the raised cheek piece. This gun which is chambered in 30 30 is in approx New or Near New Conditon, has not been carried in the field and clearly spent its life in a safe. It is equipped with a Marlin Scope of the same era (this model was lst produced in 58 or 59) and like the rifle is in near new condition and still clear and bright.
These are now rarely encountered and almost never in this condition. We have not seen one like this for many years. V prefix in the serial # indicates yrs 1961-1962 (last yr production)
