Payment Types Accepted: cashier's check, personal check, money order Description: Very rare Parker Bros., Quality NH, 8 gauge, side-by-side double, hammerless, with 38" twist steel barrels on a No. 6 frame in very good condition. It has double triggers, extractors, and a splinter forearm. Serial # 117160 indicates this shotgun was manufactured in 1903. The last Parker 8 gauge made was serial # 174065, in 1916. I understand only 29 Parker 8 gauges in Grade NH were ever made. Eight gauges were made to pass shoot ducks, geese, swans, cranes and about anything that flew along the major flyways across the United States. They were finally outlawed on migratory species in the early 1900's, but are still legal in many states for other game, such as wild turkey. The bores are very clean. The barrels show a beautiful pattern on the outside and have not been touched. Exquisite jeweling is visible on the breach watertable and barrel flats when the gun is open, and all numbers here are clearly visible. According to the Research Letter, the firearm was returned to the factory by the original owner in 1918 for barrel work. The owner requested the barrels be rebored (cartridge chambers) to accept heavier loads of BB's and No. 2 shot size. This was done at no charge to the customer, and is probably when the additional upgrading was done, jeweling, etc. This type of work was normally reserved for higher grade firearms. The gun has factory engraving on the breach and better than field grade wood. The wood, shows a beautiful knurling pattern with no cracks and clean checkering. All components have matching serial numbers. Lockup is clean and tight. 3.00 DAH, 13.00 LOP. An extremely rare, hard to find Parker, in very good condition, at this price. This firearm will ship broken down into the separate main components (barrels, forearm, breech with buttstock attached) in a hard case, within a box, via FedEx Ground. The Parker Gun Collectors Association Factory Research letter will be included.
