This is an excellent and early, 3rd year production Colt Python, with a desirable 6-inch barrel. It has the early high gloss Colt Royal Blue that retains around 98% of its original finish, with just light wear on the muzzle, a cylinder turn line and a couple of minute handling marks here and there. Manufactured for only four years, first generation Pythons had hollow underlugs, fully checkered grips and a beautiful translucent early Colt blue. Only about 10,000 of the first generation guns were made, of which most were extensively used. This 1958 production gun managed to survive in near mint condition, with excellent bore, great lock-up and sharp grips with original gold medallions. A top condition early specimen! Guaranteed authentic and original.
