Antique Winchester Model 1887 Lever Action Shotgun

Here we present an antique Winchester Model 1887 Lever Action Shotgun made by the Winchester Repeating Arms Company in 1887 in New Haven, Connecticut. Yet another example of firearms ingenuity from the great mind of John Moses Browning, the Model 1887 was among the first successful repeating shotguns. Since Winchester was a brand known almost exclusively for its lever action rifles their shotgun just had to be lever action as well. Browning’s rolling block that fed from a magazine tube was a success, though it was fast eclipsed by the pump action which obviously proved to be the route that most makers take even today.
This shotgun features a 12 gauge bore, with 2-3/4 inch chamber. It has a 13-1/2 inch Length of Pull. The Model 1887 was prominently used by Arnold Schwarzenegger in the film Terminator 2: Judgment Day.
The overall condition is fair. The metal surfaces have a dark gray patina. The markings are clear and legible. The stock forestock is original and in good condition while the butt stock has been replaced. Receiver tangs have been repaired. The bore is dark and smooth. The action on this shotgun does not lock up well due to the repairs and it is not recommended to shoot this piece.
