Antique flintlock Kentucky rifle - made for military use with a large .48 caliber bore, plain two piece patch box and a two inch thick butt stock. Otherwise it has the typical features - grip rail, cheek rest, faceted square end of butt plate tang and 45 inch octagon barrel. Possibly of the type used by Daniel Morgan's company of Pennsylvania and Virginia Riflemen. Walnut stock with some professional restoration around the lock. Circa 1780. Very good condition.
