According to Bruce Canfields excellent book COMPLETE GUIDE TO UNTIED STATES MILITARY COMBAT SHOTGUNS, “It is rare to find a Model 25 Riot Gun- because almost the entire production ended up in Vietnam! We have inspected over two thousand and noted all serial numbers…” The lowest number recorded was 64069 and the highest number recorded was 73405. Apparently these were sold to the government of South Vietnam in the early 1950s which is why very few show up today. I believe this is the first one of these I’ve seen. Overall it is in fine+ condition with most of the blue intact- there is some wear to the blue on the top of the barrel ahead of the receiver where it obviously rubbed in a rack. There is also some wear to the underside of the mag tube and bottom of the receiver. Forend is excellent and butt stock is mainly free of dings with one typical hairline age crack coming back from the left side of the receiver for about an inch.
