Description:
This Winchester 40-65 Model 1885 High Wall rifle, with action manufactured in 1897, has a 29-1/4” tapered octagon to round 1-1/8” to 1” highly polished Douglas barrel with 1:16 twist. It is mounted with a rear Soul tang sight with Hadley eye cup and spirit level front sight. The bore is excellent. The P++ Walnut buttstock with checkered blued steel butt plate, checkered wrist and forend are in good condition with the exception of usage dents and dings. The shnauble of the forend has an Ebony inlay. The stickers on the buttstock indicate this rifle won two NRA Silhouette Championships. The color case hardened action with double set triggers and trigger guard are in good condition with the exception of scratches and worn areas from use. Stamped underneath the trigger guard are serial number and patent information. The length of pull is 12-3/4”, overall length is 45-1/2”, weight is 10.8 lbs. Our stock number is A681.
