Description:
For sale is an antique E. Howard Series 11 Rail Road Chronometer Gold Filled pocket watch. It is all original, 16 size and was made around 1914. It has a beautiful Series 11 Rail Road grade 21 jewel movement and is housed in it's original lovely 14k gold filled case which is in excellent condition! This is one of the really great Railroad movements! Pocketwatches that were to be used by conductors and engineers operating trains, had to be those that were "approved for railroad use" by having attributes such as those posessed by this example. Most pocketwatches were not of the "approved" variety; making these somewhat rare & collectable.
Movement: This watch runs strong and keeps time. The original "swing out" movement has 21 jewels and is in excellent condition. It is a double roller, lever set, and stem wind. It is adjusted to 5 positions and temperature.
Dial: The original dial is in excellent condition, having no defects such as hairline cracks or chips. The 'Fire Blue" hands are also perfect, with no flaws.
Case: The original gold filled J.Boss "Extra" Keystone case is Marked "E. HOWARD WATCH CO, BOSTON and is in excellent condition, and has no wear thru anywhere. This hansome watch is ready to display or carry!
