30” solid rib between barrels, ventilated rib along top. Two white beads Fixed chokes Improved Modified & Full
The Barrels have a deep rich original blue. The ventilated rib is matted on the top with groves perpendicular to the bore there is a channel running full length down the center. An inscription “PIGEON GRADE) is engraved into the rib. A large white bead at the muzzle and a smaller one midway. The chambers and bores are bright and shinny. The internal surfaces are jeweled. The Chambers are 2 3/4”. There is a flourishing of engraving which flows into the receiver.
Receiver
The receiver has a coined finish. Engraving coverage is quite attractive leaving an open area for contrast on the sides of the receiver. The top lever is nicely engraved and checkered as is the safety. The wood to metal fit is first class. There are no scratches or nicks.
Stock
Hi-Grade Tiger Striped walnut has a high gloss finish with checkering along the side panels, pistol grip and the bottom and lower third of the forend. The exposed area of the forearm displays beautifully figured walnut. The color is deep and warm. There are a few marks from use. A white line spacer is sandwiched between the butt and the Winchester marked recoil pad.
Case
The hard case is fabric covered and fitted with brass fasteners. The interior is segmented, padded and finished with a wine colored velvet like material.
This piece may have been custom ordered. In addition to the hi-grade furniture the bottom of the trigger guard is ingraved with three initials interwoven in within scroll work. A very nice touch.
