*Sale Pending*  James Purdey Best Sidelock Ejector,  12 bore, 2 1/2" chambers, 1 1/8 oz. nitro proof, 29 1/2" Sir Joseph Whitworth fluid steel barrels (barrel length confirmed original with Purdey) choked .018 Mod. and .036 Full, bores .734 and min. wall thickness .025 on both tubes, 15" LOP over a leather pad, 1 1/2" DAC, 2 1/4" DAH, 1/4" cast off for RH shooter, 6 lbs. 12 oz., self-opening action, ejectors, cocking indicators, gold oval with a family crest engraved, double triggers, straight grip, splinter fore-end, drop points, slightly concave game rib, automatic safety, "Safe" in gold, rib engraved "J. Purdey & Sons, Audley House, South Audley Street, London England, Made of Sir Joseph Whitworth Fluid-Pressed Steel" bottom of action "J. Purdey & Sons, London", highly figured walnut and some of the best we've seen on a Purdey from this time period, remains in excellent unmolested condition with traces of original case colors and about 90% blue and wood showing only minor handling use, nice and tight and without issue. Very nicely balanced just a hair in front of the hinge pin. Comes in it's original labeled Purdey oak and leather case that is numbered to the gun that includes a Purdey oil bottle. Circa 1911.  A really special example of a Pre-World War I Purdey. Reduced from $24,950.
