Description:
Approximately 1000 made in 1886 with Experimental 24" barrel. These rifles were issued to the 8th and 10th Cavalry in late 1886 for trials.Supplied with the Buffington rear sight, these short rifles were not adopted into regular service and were subsequently reissued to home guard units and some prison facilities.This scarce rifle is in very good condition considering its age.
