SPRINGFIELD U.S. MODEL 1888 TRAPDOOR .45-70 CAL. ROD BAYONET RIFLE. Fine plus example and 100% original with nice wood with all the finish and a crisp “SWP/1893” cartouche. A few minor dings. Serial in the 5xx,xxx range. Has lots of blue mixed with dark patina. Screws unturned. Mint bore and perfect working order. Some old dried grease and oil that will clean well. Has the Model 1890 Sight Hood. Spanish-American War type. Was a shooter of mine due to such nice bore and rifling.Very tight lockup.
