Payment Types Accepted: Credit Card, Certified Check, Money Order Description: Antique “GUARDIAN AMERICAN MODEL OF 1878” Revolver Belgian Lefaucheux Pinfire Revolver Here we present an antique “The Guardian American Model of 1878” Pinfire Revolver, made in Belgium circa 1880 by Fagnus & Clément. Casimir Lefaucheux patented the pinfire cartridge in 1835 and son Eugene designed the pistol. The pinfire cartridge was one of the first successful self-contained cartridges in history, and the pistol saw prolific use in Europe during the 19th century, even being adopted by some militaries. This example is a concealed carry version with a small stature and a foldable trigger. The cylinder is marked “The Guardian American Model of 1878”. The cylinder also has a Liege proof mark. The overall condition is fair. The metal surfaces have a light patina. The markings are clear and legible. The grips are in good shape. The bore is dark.
