In our opinion this is the coolest SKS rifle ever built. This is a Norinco SKS Model M, essentially an improved/modernized version of the SKS made by Norinco in the early 1990's that was imported into the U.S. in relatively low numbers. The Norinco SKS Model M was a factory built SKS that was designed to accept AK-47 magazines and features a "Paratrooper" length barrel (16.5" Inches) and a standard solid hardwood stock with a pistol-grip and handguard. While there was also a Norinco "Sporter" Model SKS imported with a thumb-hole stock that also took AK magazines, this variation with a standard stock is much more desirable. This SKS Model M is a very interesting and excellent design. While the original SKS design with a fixed 10-round magazine was an excellent weapon, when the select-fire AK-47 with a 30-rd detachable magazine was introduced it made the lower-capacity semi-auto SKS obsolete on the battlefield. What Norinco did with the Model M is take the best attributes of the AK and merge them with the SKS. The Model M was factory designed to use any AK magazine for large on-board capacity and was given the shorter 16.5" inch barrel for greater maneuverability. It retained the rock-solid construction of the original SKS as well as the superior shooting comfort and accuracy over the AK design. This particular example is in mint condition and has NEVER been fired since leaving the factory. This Norinco SKS Model M has spent it's entire life in storage in it's original box. It has a perfect mint bore with like-new sharp rifling, and the factory blue finish is in beautiful like-new condition. The little piece of cheesecloth is even still in place under the adjustable rear sight. All of the controls on the rifle and the action are in 100% perfect working order, and all of the factory numbered parts are matching. This Norinco SKS Model M comes in the original factory box complete with owners manual, oil bottle, tool, sling, and two total 10-rd factory magazines. The box and manual show some water damage but the accessories are in perfect shape. This has to be one of the finest and most complete original examples of this scarce SKS in existence. If you have been looking for a unique and cool addition for your collection this Norinco Model M would be an excellent choice and should be a superb long-term investment.
