Description:
This is a beautiful all-original 1983 Smith & Wesson Model 19-5 in a factory nickel finish with a 2.5" barrel. This revolver is in "near new" condition with the original factory nickel finish rating 98% plus, and most likely has only had a handful of rounds fired thru it since leaving the factory. The original color case hardening on the hammer and trigger is in excellent condition, showing lots of bright color, and the original checkered Walnut grips are in superb condition and fit the gun perfectly. The bore in the 2.5" inch barrel is in minty and bright condition, as are the cylinder bores as well. The rifling still shows nice sharp lands and grooves, and there is no pitting, erosion, or imperfections of any kind visible. The action on this Model 19 is smooth and precise and perfectly "in time" whether being worked single or double action. At full lock there is no play in the cylinder, and the trigger is quite good, breaking with a light pull with no grit or slop. This 19-5 works 100% like the day it left the factory 36 years ago. Smith & Wesson has not made any nickel plated Model 19's since 1992, and this 2.5" inch barrel model is the hardest to find, making this revolver an excellent long term investment. If you have been looking for a high-condition Smith & Wesson Model 19 for your collection this example would be an excellent choice.
