Description:
Serial #114186, .455 Eley, 5 1/2" barrel with a fine, bright bore that has some dark spots of freckling near the muzzle. This is a 1916-made revolver that retains 90-95% of the original bright, commercial blue finish with some silvering at the muzzle, as well as along the high and projecting edges. The revolver has extensive British military proofs with small “JJ" stamp on the underside of the barrel, and a small and unobtrusive import mark on the inside of the crane cut. The checkered, hard rubber grips are in very good shape with minor handling marks, and some flattening of the points, however the right panel has cracks at the heel, as well as along the back edge. The lock-up is tight and the action functions flawlessly. This is a fine-near excellent example of a British military New Service, and would make a great addition to any collection. FFL or C&R
