Description:
We are offering for sale a 1st Generation COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY revolver chambered in .44-40 caliber. This is an “ACID ETCHED” example with 7 ½” round barrel. The etching has faded but the gun remains in fully functioning condition.
7 ½” barrel is good with surface wear, finish loss. This was original a nickel plated revolver. The acid etched Colt mark on the left side of the barrel has worn off with age. The bore remains good with light general wear; Strong rifling. This gun is a shooter. The cylinder, complete with matching serial number, is good with wear consistent with the barrel. Cylinder locks tightly up and exhibits good timing. The frame and trigger guard, both with matching serial numbers, remain good with consistent wear. Hammer and trigger function well. Screw heads are not damaged. The original walnut grip scales are very good with field wear; No damage noted.
