New Ithaca Double 10 Gauge 3 ½” Magnum with rare safety barrel selector and selective ejectors.
This is the original 10 Gauge Magnum designed with extra strong action for the at the time new Winchester 3 & ½ inch magnum. Winchester designed the 10 gauge magnum to equal the performance of the 8 gauge. The original Western Cartridge Co. Magnum-Ten Super-X load in 1932 was two ounces of shot in a 3 1/2 inch case. Winchester-Western introduced their Super-X Double-X in 10-gauge 3 1/2 inch with 2 1/4 ounces of shot in 1978.
The Ithaca NID was the first gun made for 10 gauge magnum and was introduced in 1932. Only 887 were produced. Just the medicine for long range ducks and geese or turkey. After decades in duck boats and marshes, few survive in high condition.
Single selectable trigger with safety barrel selector, push forward to select right barrel, center for safe, slide backward to select left barrel. Shown in the photo.
