Bought this rifle new in 1969 planning to use it hunting deer in west Texas where I lived at the time. Shot 3 rounds through it, loved it. within a month I was transferred to CA. Never hunted big game again, so this gun is like new. Now, I know that some people frown on using a collectors gun for hunting, but if you plan on keeping it forever, doesn't matter. This gun is drilled and tapped for scope mount from the factory, and that is what I had planned on doing. After all, the 308 is a great round.
It has the built in brass rotary cartridge holder (4 rounds, I beleive) and a see through hole on the side of the receiver indicating how many rounds are left.There is absulutely no rust anywhere and the bluing appears perfect. Stock has one small dent, no other scratches or imperfections.
I have the original box it came with and can include that. I am the only owner of this pristine piece of history. Time to let some one else enjoy this pristine peice if history
