There are many terms we collectors and dealers use to describe an Antique firearm. In many instances we have used "Spectacular, phenomenal, and exceptional". Even others, but none of those words describes what this gun truly is. I will start out by saying, the pictures don't do this impeccable Colt any justice. This Colt is absolutely stupendous, the condition is absolutely spectacular. If you want to own a Colt that looks like it left the factory just yesterday, this is it. This Colt retains 98% of the original factory nickel finish. The grip shows 98% original varnish. All the screws, trigger, and also even the ejector shows original fire blue finish! The hammer shows 100% original color case hardened finish. The mechanical function of this Colt is excellent in every regard. This Colt also retains its original, yes original factory casing that exhibits 50 original period .44 Colt Centerfire Cartridges. The oiler is retained also. This Colt is pictured and described by serial number in the "William Locke Book" and also the "Fine Colts The Dr. Joseph A. Murphy Collections". This exact Colt also resided in both collections for a good period of time, two of the most iconic and finest collections of Colts that has ever been put together. This gun is also considered by many a "prototype" and as being the very first Colt 1860 Richards Conversion in .44 Centerfire. I will entertain an offer from serious parties.
