Description:
Very unique Big Smith and Wesson originally .455, converted to 45Long Colt and later to 45 smooth bore. In 1952 this gun was sent to Lakeville Arms where Jim Harvey and Al Sinan Jr. were converting revolvers to shoot shot.(ahead of their time) The gun was modified to smooth bore, and originally had a screw on choke tube on the end of the barrel. The gun was later sent to Ernie Simmons where it was modified again. Simmons fixed the choke to the barrel and then milled off the sights and added a 9 1/2" full length rib to the barrel. He also at that time removed the lanyard ring jeweled the trigger and hammer and re-finished the entire gun. Large target grips were added as well. Quite a bit of information about the build as well as loads for the gun are included with the gun. The original builder was Fred Monteser of Denver Co. Also included with the firearm is an approval letter from the ATF from 1956. A very unique gun built ahead of its time. It is Canadian Proofed and retains most of its Simmons re-finish. $1900.00 FFL/C&R,  25.00 shipping lower 48. C/C please add 3%
