CIVIL WAR REMINGTON U.S. 1858 NEW MODEL ARMY EARLY TRANSITION .44CAL PERCUSSION REVOLVER, CIRCA 1863. Serial number "301XX". 8" octagonal barrel with 95% original brilliant blue and exceptional bore and rifling(matches the outside). Correct early nickel silver cone front sight. Loading lever the same excellent quality. Frame with original color fading to patina with excellent screws. Crisp barrel address and acceptance stamp on triggerguard as well as military inspector's cartouche on excellent factory grips beautifully inletted. Left grip flat butt relief stamped 'WELLS" with star after(very old). Not aware of Wells Fargo Remingtons but anything is possible a may just stand for the name "Wells". Perfect working order with excellent nipples.
