Description:
Best quality John Rigby shotgun. Beautiful damascus barrels with 95% original finish. Good case colors on action. Rigby rising bite action with dipped edge lock plates. Joseph Brazier, Ashes locks. 30 inch barrels choked IC/IC. Manufactured approximately 1898. Reproofed in London for nitro in 2000 and so marked.
Unique in that the stock is "cast for central vision." This means that you can shoot the shotgun right handed while aiming with your left eye. Stock and forend have nicks and scratches as expected for 120 year old gun. Forend has patented Rigby rotary lever latch. No cracks or chips in stock or forend.
All original as it came from the manufaturer except for reproof. Engraved steel buttplate. Screws are all in good condition. Ejectors are properly timed and the trigger pulls are crisp. Perfect bores.
This shotgun functions flawlessly.
