Description:
Unmodified except for sling studs is this nice 1942 Pre War Carbine. It is the long wood (lenght of wood forward of front barrel band) sought after model Increasingly hard to find in very good to ex. cond are these pre war guns. This one is chambered in 32 Win Spl. as such less common than 30 WCF in that era. Receiver retains most of the excellent factory blue with only the light normal faint scratches from being handled and light loss of blue on the underside from being carried. There are no splits, meaningful scratches or flaws to the wood; only normal wear to finsish and a few compression marks but no damage. Orig. steel butt plate has light corrosion but should clean up on a wire wheel. Rear site dovetail has a correct blanc so as not to appear in the site picture of the excellent Redfield Peep (much less frequently encounterd than the equiv. Lymans). The bore is also excellent.
In Southern New England where we are located we get to see a fair number of these woods carbines, many were not freqently used unlike guns from other parts of the Country. We have not had a good Pre War 94 however in some time.
